PLATES & COILS
- JSPL is equipped with India's first state-of-the-art plate mill that started producing plates and coils of 5 metre and 3 metre width respectively, for the first time in the private sector.
- The 1 MTPA plate-cum-coil mill at Raigarh produces plates (8–120 mm thick, 1500–3500 mm wide) and coils (8–25 mm thick, 1500–2500 mm wide).
- The mill uses a walking beam reheating furnace (1250°C) with 2-hi roughing and 4-hi finishing stands, supported by high-pressure de-scalers for superior surface quality.
- An auto level-2 control system with a heavy leveler ensures precise dimensions and flatness, supported by full inspection from slab charging to final production.
- The 1.5 MTPA plate mill at Angul, Odisha produces 5–150 mm thick plates up to 5000 mm wide, using advanced technology for high strength and superior finish.
- The plates and coils ensure dimensional accuracy and internal soundness, meeting IS 2062 (up to E450) and global standards like EN, DIN, JIS, and ASTM. The mill is approved by LRS, DNV, ABS, GL, and others for shipbuilding steel.
- ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 , OSHAS 18001, CE, ADW-2000 and certification by IBR for boiler grade steel, besides being a well known steelmaker.
